Houston - Leakey - Houston
878 miles
Via 90A / 90 and the wonderful Texas Hill Country roads

I had been to Kerrville before.  It is a wonderful place and worth the visit, but it is just a bit big and modern for what I am looking for in this trip.  I just blew through it, heading to Ingram by traveling West on 27.  From there I took the 39 fork to Hunt, and stayed on 39 going SW until I reached 83 again.  This whole stretch of road is wonderful, with plenty of curves, turns, and hills.  It often borders creeks and rivers.  There is nothing like it on a brisk, sunny, late winter, Texas afternoon.

Late that afternoon I landed back in Leakey, where I could not help myself and had to add a picture of the Taxidermy Gifts shop.  What a great spectrum of flavors!
