The day finally got there. I had been in the Denver area for 5 days, but as many other parts of this journey, I had to show patience and wait some more. As it was, when I showed up to get it, I had to wait even more, since they had not changed the oil as agreed. So SO and I had to sit around and wait some more. However, the moment did indeed arrive, and I took delivery close to noon. Boy, did this bike look even better in person than in pictures.
From here, I took it for a brief ride to Red Rock Parks and Amphitheater. This place literally rocks. Not only are there red rock formations jutting out of the ground unexpectedly, but a music venue has been hosting concerts there since before I was born. Not to date myself, but Louis Armstrong and Nat King Cole played there the year of my birth. The place has also seen the likes of Santana, U2, Jimmy Cliff, Deaf Leppard, and Jethro Tull.
